Long neck galapagos tortoise

From - Earth Unreal, Edited by Vinuri Randula Silva, This is how long the neck of some subspecies of the Galápagos tortoise can be! The Galápagos tortoise or Galápagos giant tortoise (Chelonoidis niger ) is a species of very large tortoise in the genus Chelonoidis, native to seven of the Galápagos Islands. It is the largest living species of tortoise, with some modern tortoises having a weight of up to 417 kg (919 lb). The Galápagos tortoise is one of the longest-lived vertebrates, with a lifespan of over 100 years in the wild and up to 177 years in captivity. Their shell size and shape vary between subspecies and populations. Tortoises residing on islands with humid highlands are larger, and have domed shells and short necks, while those inhabiting islands with dry lowlands, are smaller, with "saddleback" shells and long necks.

What is the world's most dangerous bird?

From . Wikkipedia, Earth Unreal,  BBC Discover Wildlife Magazine - by Hattie Hayeck, By - Vinuri Randhula Silva, The cassowary is usually considered to be the world’s most dangerous bird, at least where humans are concerned, although ostriches and emus can also be dangerous. Cassowaries are shy and they are usually hard to spot, at least in their natural rain forest habitats. They are not overly aggressive, and attacks are rare. But they can do a lot of damage if they are provoked or angered. Cassowary attacks have occasionally been deadly, including a recent one which occurred in 2019, at a private collection of caged birds in Florida. Cassowaries  are native to Northern Australia, New Guinea, and surrounding islands. The family  Casuariidae  includes three living cassowary species, all of the genus  Casuarius : Casuarius casuarius.  The southern, or double-wattled cassowary, with a bright blue head, two red wattles,  and black feathers,  is the largest of the casso

Beautiful red betta fish

From- Wikipedia & Earth Unreal Edited by – Vinuri Randhula Silva Red betta fish are beautiful and  intelligent fish  that have been bred and raised as pets since at least the 1900s. This long history of breeding has resulted in a wide variety of color and fin variations, as well as  distinct personality types  and preferences, which makes selecting and caring for your fish an exciting endeavor! If you’re thinking about getting a red  betta fish , there are plenty of things to consider before buying your new pet. Many people choose red betta fish simply because they love the color, but the care requirements are not the same as  other tropical fish species  like angelfish or neon tetras, so it’s important to know what you’re getting into before spending time and money on your new pet. You might think that one pet fish would be  easy to care for , but you’d be wrong!  Betta fish  need a lot of attention, and their peculiar anatomy can lead to serious health problems if they ar

A color full beetle

Fro m Wikipedia & Earth Unreal, By - Vinuri Randhula Silva, A Trilobite beetle of the Platerodrilus genus, photographed in Mt. Kinabalu national park, Borneo. This species of the family Lycidae is found in tropical forests of India and South-east Asia. Females measure about 40 – 80 mm in length and retain a larval form as adults Both females and larvae have a flattened, dark body with large scales over the head, which look like trilobites, hence their informal name trilobite beetle. Males, on the other hand, are much smaller (8 – 9 mm) and resemble other beetles. First discovered back in the 1800s, commonly referred to as net-winged beetles. A major characteristic of many net-winged beetle species is that their males and females look entirely different.

The Green bird flower

From - Wikipedia  Eddited by - Vinuri Randhula Silva, Crotalaria cunninghamii , also known as  green bird flower ,   parrot pea  or  regal bird flower , named  Crotalaria  after the Greek word for rattle, because their seeds rattle, and  cunninghamii  after early 19th century botanist  Allan Cunningham .  Crotalaria cunninghamii  is known as  Mangarr  to the  Nyangumarta  Warrarn Indigenous group. Crotalaria cunninghamii  is a short-lived perennial plant native to Australia and its habitat is the deserts, coastlands, drainage lines and sand dunes of the northern half of Western Australia and the Northern Territory. This habitat is semi-arid to temperate regions in well drained soils.  Crotalaria cunninghamii  blooms from January to April. It is pollinated by large  bees  and by  honeyeaters .   The green bird flower is a  perennial  shrub that grows to about 1–3 m in height. It has hairy or woolly branches and dull green foliage. The oval leaves are about 30 mm long, the large and

A miniature flying dragon!

From - Wikipedia & Earth Unreal, Edited by Amal Usawatta, This species is a Five-banded gliding lizard (Draco quinquefasciatus) . Draco  is a  genus  of  agamid   lizards  that are also known as  flying lizards ,  flying dragons  or  gliding lizards . These lizards are capable of  gliding flight  via membranes that may be extended to create wings formed by an enlarged set of ribs. They are  arboreal   insectivores . While not capable of powered flight they often obtain lift in the course of their gliding flights. Glides as long as 60 m (200 ft) have been recorded, over which the animal loses only 10 m (33 ft) in height, which is quite some distance, considering that one lizard is only around 20 cm (7.9 in) in total length, tail included. They are found across Southeast Asia and southern India. and are fairly common in forests,  areca  gardens,  teak  plantations and shrub jungle. Carl Linnaeus  described the genus in 1758, with the  type species  being  Draco volans .  The name

This weird insect may look like something straight out of a sci-fi movie but it's in fact very real!

From- Earth Unreal, Edited by – Vinuri Ranula Silva, This is a species of arctiine (tiger) moth native to South East Asia and Australia. The specimen here is a male in mating season, with its coremata (scent organs) showing. This species has a red abdomen (rarely yellow), white hindwings and brown forewings, with a dark streak along them, and a wingspan of 4 cm. Males have four large eversible coremata which are usually concealed within their abdomen. When inflated by air pressure or blood pressure, the coremata can exceed the length of the abdomen. These hairy, tentacles-like organs are covered in pheromones to attract mates and at the same time the strong scent can deter predators.

Only in Australia!

From-  Earth Unreal. Edited by - Vinuri Randhula Silva, 10 Cane toads were seen riding on the back of a Python after a storm in Kununurra, Western Australia. This bizarre scene was witnessed and captured on video by Paul Mock from Kununurra, after a bad thunderstorm had hit the property he shares with his wife, bringing down almost 70 mm of rain within an hour. The lake had overflowed and filled the cane toad burrows around the bank and thousands of them were seen sitting on top of the grass. The resident python, a 3.5m snake called Monty, was spotted escaping the flood with a group of Cane toads using him as transportation. "He was literally moving across the grass at full speed with the frogs hanging on," mentioned Paul. However, an alternative explanation to the viral photo came from Jodi Rowley, an amphibian expert and a senior lecturer in biological sciences at the University of New South Wales. She stated that the toads were all male cane toads, trying to mate with the
